Frequently Asked Questions
What is Ombré Powder and how is it different from Microblading?
Instead of creating hair-like strokes in the eyebrow like Microblading, this technique is a shading gradient effect from the beginning of the brow to the end starting from light and fading to dark, giving your brow the sharp yet natural look.
Does it hurt?
There are mixed reviews on pain. Topical anesthetics (numbing creams) are applied during shading to eliminate/reduce any pain or discomfort. Some clients may naturally feel one brow to be more tender than the other.
Will I be swollen?
No, you won't be swollen. The skin around the brows may be red but will subside within 24 hours.
Will I need a touch up?
Yes, 1 week after your first appointment the color will fade significantly from your brows, and over the next 4 - 6 weeks they can continue to fade as much as 50%. This is 100% normal and is a part of the healing process.
How often do I need to get a touch up?
In order to keep your brow tattoo looking fresh, a yearly touch up is recommended.
How long will it last?
It will last as long as it’s maintained. How long brows last vary from client to client for many reasons. It varies on your skin type, how well your skin retains the pigment during the session, and how dark you are willing to go. After a touch up, brows are expected to last from 1 to 3 years depending on skin retention, time in the sun, and daily skin routines (more exfoliating products = fading faster).
Why do I need a touch up if this is semi-permanent?
Color is being implanted into the face, and the face sees the most wear vs. other parts of the body. Exposure to the sun, aftercare, facial treatments/skincare, etc. these are all factors that cause permanent color to fade, which is why touch ups are needed.
How long does it take to heal?
Healing time varies from individual to individual. On average it takes about 7 - 14 days for the scabs to form and then flake/fall off. Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. Then, the pigment takes some time to settle into the skin. For them to be fully healed, 1 month should pass.
How do I extend the longevity of the brows?
Your brows will last longer if you apply sun block regularly and avoid abrasive facial treatments in the brow area.
